About Me: Louise Wheeler

I founded Coaching Oxford in 2011 and have over 15 years’ experience providing coaching and mentoring both within organisations and independently.

Coaching Style

I help individuals identify their key strengths and their top priorities for action.  I see coaching as a process which enables the client to develop self-management tactics and tap into their own key motivators.  I am committed to upholding the person-centred principles of coaching which rely on honesty, and mutual respect.  With extensive commercial and third sector experience I have gained a wealth of knowledge and adopt an empathetic yet practical approach to my work. I bring a balance of challenge and empathy to the coaching experience.

Qualifications and Professional Membership

I am a qualified coach with a MA in Coaching and Mentoring Practice from Oxford Brookes University and have recently gained an accredited Certificate in Therapeutic Coaching. I am trained in Nancy Kline’s Thinking Partnership approach to coaching and facilitation and hold the British Psychological Society’s Certificate of Registration, qualifying me to use various personality and profiling tools. I also hold a Level Two Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems, am a trained Mental Health First Aider and have a BSc. in Hospitality Management.

Professional memberships include the Association for Coaching and the Market Research Society. I operate within the Association for Coaching’s Global Code of Ethics. Background

I am an accomplished research professional whose track record spans over 20 years working for large research agencies including NOP and GfK (now part of Ipsos MORI). Prior to entering the world of research, I worked in operational management roles in the hospitality and leisure sectors. Alongside Coaching Oxford I run a purpose-led business, Research Oxford providing insight for positive change via research and evaluation.

During my time in the corporate sector I worked with a large portfolio of clients from financial, retail, leisure, transport, automotive, charity and government sectors including Argos, ASDA, easyJet, O2, Greene King, Royal Bank of Scotland, National Trust and London Underground.  As a Commercial Director at GfKNOP, I led teams through the design, implementation, reporting and analysis of numerous research projects delivering strategically focused, actionable recommendations.

I have delivered a number of guest lectures for Oxford Brookes University, University of Portsmouth and UCL and in my spare time I enjoy cycling, walking, motorcycling and engaging with my local community.
